The Secretary General of the Ministry of Basic Education, Dr. OYONO Adams Daniel, chaired a workshop on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Copacabana Beach Hotel in Kribi. The workshop aimed to develop a text establishing the criteria and procedures for the referral and medical, educational, and social support of individuals with special needs in educational and training settings. Representatives from government agencies responsible for the education and training sector, technical and financial partners, UNESCO, and civil society actors are participating. Over five days, participants will produce a draft regulatory text defining the criteria and procedures for the referral and free medical, educational, and social support of individuals with special needs in educational and training settings. Presentations and workshop sessions, which began on Monday, will enable participants to finalize this text. To that end, the Secretary General, on behalf of the Minister of Basic Education, expressed his hope for the constructive contribution of all the experts invited to this workshop.
