The Minister of Basic Education Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Support Program for Education Reform in Cameroon, Professor Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, chaired, on September 14 th 2023 the 6th ordinary and 5th extraordinary sessions of the PAREC Steering Committee.

The Minister of Basic Education, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Support Program for Education Reform in Cameroon, Professor Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, chaired, on September 14th 2023, at the Mont Febe hotel in Yaoundé, the 6th ordinary session and the 5th extraordinary session of the PAREC Steering Committee. After verifying that the quota of members was reached, the President of the Steering Committee delivered his opening speech. In this introduction statement, he recalled that PAREC is a Support Program for Education Reform in Cameroon whose main donor is the World Bank. He also specified that the respective sessions constitute a framework to evaluate the performance of the activities carried out by the Program during the period from January to August 2023 and the results achieved at the end of this period. A desired friendly working environment indicated the Minister of Basic Education, so that the interventions of the members of the Steering Committee and the guests present are constructive. Following him, the General Coordinator of PAREC, Mr. Owotsogo Onguene Ambroise, respectively presented the status of implementation of the recommendations of the previous ordinary session and the progress of activities is at the half way point of implementation. In 2023, Each articulation was gradually followed by the exchange phase. And each session was closed by the reading of the resolutions and recommendations by the Rapporteur of the Steering Committee, the General Coordinator of PAREC.
