The Minister of Basic Education Prof. Laurent Serge ETOUNDI NGOA, alongside Dr. Vivian ACHIRI KILO Secretary of State to the Minister of Basic Education presided over the signing of a Partnership Agreement between the Republic of Cameroon represented by the Ministry of Basic Education and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on the improvement in access to nursery and primary education to Refugees and asylum seekers today Wednesday, 13 August 2025 in the Minister’s Cabinet. This delegation was led by the country Director of UNHCR Mrs. Yvette MUHIMPUNDU who in her opening address thanked the Republic of Cameroon in general and the Ministry of Basic Education in particular for the efforts made on the field to curb the issue of out-of-school refugee children in certain regions of the country. Also, the country director thanked the Republic of Cameroon for welcoming displaced persons. Taking the floor, the Minister Minister of Basic Education wished his guests a worm welcome and thanked UNHCR, Plan International Cameroon and his collaborators who worked relentlessly for the concretization of this partnership agreement. Also, the Minister expressed his satisfaction and optimism on the outcome of this agreement.
